Steven Faulkner, Owner of Lindora, Meridian, Idaho

“Brent supervised construction for a tenant improvement I did in Meridian. He provided a weekly report on all construction progress and was always available to help answer questions or work with vendors for installations. Our construction wrapped up right on time based on the target completion date. I would recommend Brent and King Builders to anyone based on his transparency, trustworthiness, and ability to deliver a finished product just the way you want it.”

Managing Partner

Brent King of King Builders is a great guy to work with. He listens to what your wants are and tries his best to work within budget. He doesn’t take short cuts, provides quality work and pays attention to detail. Unlike some other larger construction companies who have multiple layers of people to talk to, he is easy to get a hold of. Working with the owner of the company makes things so much easier.

“King Builders is a great reputable business. I have used Brent on several jobs, the first one was removing a closet and putting in a hall tree with storage. The craftsmanship was perfect and done in a timely fashion with professional quality. The second job was adding a door to our storage garage from inside the house. He came right out and completed the job in a day including stairs! While he was here he also did a few odd jobs I needed without hesitation. The third job was a roof to our pump house. The roof is high quality and was finished quickly and at a great price. We also used King Builders for some remodeling jobs for our company. I highly recommend them to all my friends. I know you’ll be thrilled with his work.”

Building Communities

Aging in Place: Homes designed so parents and grandparents remain close, independent, and well cared for with dignity and compassion.

Shared Housing: Layouts that allow young adults to gain freedom and independence while housing costs remain high and unaffordable for many. These ideas are especially important in Boise and the Treasure Valley, where housing costs continue to rise.

Persons with Disabilities: There is a large collective of people that have unique needs and would benefit greatly from a thoughtful and intentional home built or renovated for their needs. Simple design elements like wider doorways, flush transitions, lower countertop heights, grab bars and curb less ADA showers are just a few ways we can make daily life easier and so much more enjoyable.

Entrepreneurial Spaces: Small shops, workshops, and gathering places that strengthen communities and support local business.

Meet the Builder

Three Generations Carried Forward with Integrity

For three generations the King family has been building with integrity and skill. Brent carries that work forward today. His grandfather Philip King and his father Jim King set the example in Northern California. Philip was a master carpenter and skilled artisan builder and mason who used his hands to create beautifully crafted wood furniture, custom cabinetry, toys, clocks, bowls, and more. Jim took the carpentry skills he learned as a kid from within his dad's cabinet shop out into the world and began his own contracting journey. From framing houses to building multi-million dollar homes and large scale ground-up commercial projects, his expertise and outstanding reputation have stood the test of time and led to continued success and fulfillment. Brent honors them today by continuing their building traditions and craftsmanship here in Idaho. His blend of creativity and passion for design, coupled with a warm, authentic personality and years of building experience will continue the family building legacy for another generation to come.

A Holistic Approach to Healthy Homes

by Meg King

I believe a home is more than a structure, it is a sanctuary. A home  should be a sacred place, a place of shelter, permanence, and grounding. It is where we rest, play, prepare meals, raise our children, celebrate, sing, cry, gather, retreat, create, and find comfort. A home is all of those things and much more. A home is also our air quality, the soil, the materials its made from, the sunlight it catches, the water we drink and bathe in, and ultimately the health and wellness of the people who dwell there.

I encourage people to do their own research and explore eco-friendly materials, non-toxic paints and finishes, and building choices that reduce unnecessary chemical exposure. I am always learning and open to new ideas and information. I believe there should be awareness around disruptive or potentially harmful technologies such as EMFs, Radon gas or VOC's from material off-gassing, and LED "invisible" flickering lights. Other common home issues can be poor indoor air quality, hidden mold or mildew, water toxicity or drainage issues, noise pollution or bad indoor acoustics, inadequate natural lighting or fresh air.

Any one or combination of these issues can quickly turn a families home into a living nightmare resulting in sickness, displacement, expensive repairs, or all of the above. Sometimes the affects can be covert and underlying but just as impactful- such as hidden mold toxicity. Mold exposure can often cause allergies and respiratory issues, brain fog, chronic fatigue, headaches, neurological problems, sleep issues, skin problems, and more. Sometimes people suffer for years before discovering the root cause was right inside their own home.

I believe all people have the right to live in a safe and healthy home. A beautiful house is a house that provides comfort, safety, and well-being to all who enter. A well built home should not just endure, it should give life and light to all who enter.
